All night I'd be roused by . . .
I laid down exhausted, but unable to sleep.
All night I woke up, muddled and wondering wehere I was. Her fingers would wrap around my arm, her head would sink into my sweating chest. "Sleep," she'd say. "No worry. I be watch you."
I shuddered and hugged myself.
So cold I cannot bend my fingers.
In Chin Hae Korea, wintertime, and I am very, very ill.
