Phattaya Beach - The Oarswoman

Each day she sat on the rickety transport, working the oar.

She reached down the neck of her blouse and brought up a rosary. "I am catholic," she said.

"Are the girls easy?" she asked.

"Why do you go with them?" She placed her palm on my knee.

The wind wafted up toward me, swelling, spraying like gentle buckshot into the bare skin of my arms.
