Halo-Halo means mixed. It refers, usually, to a dessert made of shaved ice, sugar, sweet milk, and almost any fruit or sweet corn. Then mixed together.

My father, on the warmest days of summer. Used to hand shave blocks of ice. The water had been frozen in milk cartons. Then mix.
